Counting Skeletons is a Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio band featuring five veteran musicians that play clubs throughout the area. Though they perform locally as a cover band, they also write and record their own music. Their latest album Super Moon features nine tracks and a variety of guest artists.

Be sure to check out their video series Tales from the Closet on YouTube or Facebook. Tales from the Closet is “behind the scenes” videos showing a different dimension of Counting Skeletons not normally seen in the clubs. The rhythm section often rehearses without the lead vocalist so that the band can tighten up music. Sometimes these videos are of the songs they like to learn to keep their “chops” up. Sometimes they are songs the group enjoys playing outside their normal set list.

They Stole My Crayon are an ethereal alternative music band from Southern California. Comprised of three multi-instrumentalists and vocalists, They Stole My Crayon employs a vast variety of influences and mixes them with beautiful dissonance, fascinating song structures, and an eccentric sense of musicality.

These are musicians who get out of the city. This album is far more pastoral than any LA band that comes to mind. And expansive beyond any trio save for the music of XTC. It’s good to remember that LA beaches are sometimes foggy as lush melodic vocal harmony-based tracks evoke prog/folk conversational markers advanced by experimental English bands Beatles, Pink Floyd, and West Coasters Alice In Chains, Elliott Smith, and Stone Temple Pilots.
